Chinatown is the area you'll find to the west of Sule Pagoda. In Chinatown, you have an abundance of narrow streets filled with life and small vendors trying to sell fresh produce. The buildings often look like they're in a dilapidated state, but at least for me that only heightens the experience and feel of the area.
