I took an evening walk along the Limmat in Zürich. The blue sky and evening sun on this river at the mouth of Lake Zürich truly highlights the beauty of the city. Limmat is a 35 kilometer (22 miles) long river flowing through the historic center of Zürich and passing through many of the sights of the city. The river starts in the southern end of Zürich City where it meets Lake Zürich, and it then continues north until it meets the river Aare.

Limmatquai. I can highly recommend walking up and down both sides of the Limmat. The Eastern side (Limmatquai) has one road going straight for most of the time. The Western side has more obstacles, but you'll also pass directly through more sights.
Mühlesteg is a popular pedestrian bridge over Limmat.
As with many similar places all over the world nowadays it's filled with locks from visiting couples.
Simple, stylish, yet beautiful architecture.
