The largest city in Bavaria is known for its beer halls and the October Fest (which is held in September every year). But even if you're not into drinking beer there are still things to see and do here. Marienplatz is surrounded by gorgeous architecture and lots of shopping opportunities. Make sure to make a visit to the Viktualienmarkt for some food and atmosphere.

Marienplatz is the tourist center and the main sight of Munich.
Narrow alleyways and traditional architecture.
A view of Altes Rathaus and Heilig-Geist-Kirche from the tower of St. Peter.
A view of Marienplatz from the same tower.
Frauenkirche is another major sight of the city.
For any beer lover visiting Munich, the Hofbräuhaus is a must. This beer hall from the 1500s is a symbol of Munich.
Odeonsplatz and Ludwigstraße.
The Monopteros in the English Garden. I'm not so much for parks when I travel, but this park had a lot of fun going on.
Karlsplatz.
Make sure to stop at Victuals Market (Viktualienmarkt) for at least one meal during your visit.
